CHILDREN’S DAY: EDEMA CELEBRATES CHILDREN, SAYS NO GOAL, DREAM TOO BIG TO ACHIEVE

The Commissioner representing Ondo State on the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Gbenga Edema, has urged children in Ondo State and the country to endeavour to focus on their dreams and goals towards becoming future change-makers in society.

While celebrating the youngsters on the commemoration of this year’s Children’s Day, Edema emphasised that children are the future of every society; hence, they must be encouraged to think beyond their limitations and believe in themselves.

According to the former Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSAPADEC), every child has the potential to achieve great things, but they need to be given the right guidance and support to turn their dreams into reality.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Edema called on parents and guardians to prioritise the well-being of their children, saying they (parents) are the first line of defence against child abuse and neglect.

He said: “On this special day, Children’s Day, I congratulate you all for being amazing and special in your own way. You bring joy and laughter to those around you with your innocent and curious nature. You are the future of our world, and it is our responsibility to nurture and guide you towards greatness.

“Remember that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. Don’t be afraid to dream big and work hard towards your goals. Always be kind, respectful, and compassionate towards others, and never forget to have fun and enjoy life.”

Edema added that, “Today is a day to celebrate the wonder and magic of childhood. So, let’s all make this day memorable for all the children around us. Let’s make them feel loved, appreciated, and cherished.

“The world is full of examples of people who have achieved great things despite facing numerous challenges along the way. These success stories should serve as an inspiration to children and help them understand that anything is possible if they set their minds to it.

“As adults, it is our responsibility to provide children with a nurturing environment that encourages them to dream big and helps them realize their full potential. Let us take this Children’s Day as an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment towards the well-being and success of our children.”
