APC chieftain and member of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Paul Akintelure, has charged the minister-designate from Ondo state, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to remain committed to progressive and developmental democracy, as he receives a higher call to service.
Akintelure, in a statement made available to TheReports, advised the Akoko lawmaker to ignore detractors, and focus on whatever role is given to him by President Bola Tinubu in his (Tinubu’s) new administration.
The medical practitioner, who was the running-mate of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in the Ondo 2012 governorship election, said: “I heartily congratulate Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo on his nomination as minister by President Bola Tinubu, and his confirmation by the senate after a rigorous screening. Over the years, Tunji-Ojo has proven to be a progressive and developmental democrat, an attribute I know he will retain, even as he is being called for a higher national assignment.
“His contributions to national issues as a member of the Federal House of Representatives shows his high level of intellect and his deep love for Nigeria.
“The human capital and infrastructural development he attracted to his constituency in his first 4 years in the Green Chamber testifies to his love for his people and humanity at large.
“As a young Nigerian, he has done well for himself and his generation by providing quality representation for his people, and he has demonstrated the need to engage more young and vibrant Nigerians into leadership positions.
“I will only advise him to remain focused as always, and never be distracted by the rantings of detractors who will never see anything good in another person.”
The Otunba of Osooro land added that “the nomination of people like Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo ojo as ministers by President Bola Tinubu is another testimony to the competence and unequivocal readiness of this government to take Nigeria to the promised land”.
