The mobilisation for the election of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa received further boost on Thursday in Akure, the Ondo State capital, as more members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) pledged their support.
This came as the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS) inaugurated its executives in Akure South local government area of the State.
The LACO-FS executives were inaugurated at a well attended event held at the Mega School, Irowo, Akure, where the new officers were mandated to go into grassroots mobilisation for the Governor.
The Coordinator of the group in the local government, Hon. Femi Fadairo, noted that Akure people are for Governor Aiyedatiwa and whatever happens in Akure, as the State capital, transfers to other 17 local government areas of the State.
Fadairo urged those with APC membership cards to go out in their numbers and vote for Aiyedatiwa during the coming primary election, stressing that the future of Ondo State hinges on their decision.
He emphasized that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration has made positive impacts so far, stressing that their votes should be for the candidate who can bring about positive impacts on the State.
Speaking at the event, former Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure and LACO-FS Director General, Hon. Saka Yusuf, charged the ward coordinators to meet with unit coordinators under them to continue to preach about Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, urging them to ensure that no one is left behind.
Mrs Olubunmi Ademosu, former Special Adviser on Public and Inter-Governmental Relations to the Governor, stated that LACO-FS is made up of people that believe in continuity of Governor Aiyedatiwa.
She stressed that they would move from ward to ward, unit to unit and all the places they can visit to tell people that this is the time to have real dividends of democracy with Governor Aiyedatiwa.
Former Senator representing Ondo North, Prof. Robbert Ajayi Borrofice, who was a Special Guest, commended Fadairo’s efforts towards ensuring Governor Aiyedatiwa’s victory.
“With Fadairo and all the people i see here today, I know that it’s going to be a huge success in Akure South localgovernment”, Boroffice said, adding that with Akure people solidly behind the Governor, victory is assured.
