Nigerian women, irrespective of political affiliation, have been encouraged to see the victory of Mrs Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as Senator representing Kogi Central, as an attestation to the fact that the nation is beginning to acknowledge that intelligent, focused and vibrant women should be given a chance to hold strategic positions in governance.
In a congratulatory message to Mrs Akpoti-Uduaghan, Princess Odu noted that anyone who followed Mrs Akpoti-Uduaghan’s campaign would agree that she is a source of pride to womanhood, having convinced her constituents that women are gifts to democracy and governance through her words and deeds.
Princess Odu who stressed that more women should be given the opportunity to lead, encouraged the female gender to show that they are mentally, intellectually, academically, politically and socially capable of moving society forward if given the opportunity.
“Natasha, I watched your post-victory interview on Channels Television and I must say that I am very impressed with your power of articulation and your brilliance, as I could feel the sincerity in your words. I am confident that you will make good your promises to your constituents and give a good account of yourself as a lawmaker in Nigeria.
“I look forward to more women being elected into very important positions to join men who mean well for the nation, and are working for a turnaround.”
Princess Odu assured that Nigerian women, irrespective of party affiliation are now fully ready to unleash their potentials for the advancement of Africa’s greatest nation.
