ONDO ASSEMBLY NOTIFIES AIYEDATIWA OF MISCONDUCT HOURS AFTER DEPUTY GOVERNOR DENIES BEING SERVED

The Ondo State House of Assembly has served a “notice of allegation of gross misconduct” on the Ondo State Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, while briefing newsmen in Akure, said Aiyedatiwa was served an hour ago through substituted service.

The Ondo State House of Assembly, last Wednesday during a plenary session, directed the clerk to write the deputy governor on alleged gross misconduct.

According to Oladiji, “We have been trying our best to see how we can get him served, but we were not able to achieve that, now we have to go through the court.

“We got an affidavit from the court to serve him through substituted service. So, he has been served through his office and it was received by his secretary.”

A copy of the letter, which bears a stamp of the Deputy Governor’s office, showing it was received at the office has been trending on social media.

A few hours earlier, the deputy governor’s legal counsel, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN said that Aiyedatiwa was yet to receive the notice.

Adegboruwa added that Aiyedatiwa has approached the court to stop the House of Assembly from making any attempt or trying to make an attempt to commence impeachment proceedings against the deputy governor.
