Senator Remi Tinubu Honors Nigeria’s First Female RMAS Graduate, Encourages Youth Empowerment

Senator Remi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, played host to 2nd Lieutenant Princess Oluchukwu Owowoh, marking a historic moment as the first Nigerian female graduate of the UK’s Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst (RMAS). The meeting, held at the State House on Monday, saw Senator Tinubu accompanied by Major General John Ochia, the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), who led Owowoh to the gathering.

Senator Tinubu lauded Owowoh’s remarkable achievement, hailing it as both outstanding and divine. She commended the Nigerian Army for providing opportunities for female excellence and urged the nation’s youth to emulate Owowoh’s resilience, advising against destructive behavior. Senator Tinubu recommended Owowoh for a national award and encouraged her superiors to support her advocacy efforts, fostering positive learning experiences for others.

Earlier, Maj Gen John Ochai, the NDA Commandant, highlighted Owowoh’s exceptional performance, noting its significance in the institution’s history. Owowoh’s success stands out among candidates from various nations, including India, Pakistan, Qatar, the UK, Canada, and Australia, who undergo training at RMAS.
