In a significant political development, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State was officially endorsed as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the November 16 governorship election. The National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, handed over the Certificate of Return to Governor Aiyedatiwa at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
The presentation ceremony, attended by members of the National Working Committee (NWC), highlighted the party’s confidence in Aiyedatiwa’s leadership abilities. Dr. Ganduje commended the Governor’s victory in the primary, emphasizing the importance of continuity for Ondo State’s development.
Expressing gratitude, Governor Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the party’s role in facilitating a successful electoral process. He extended appreciation to fellow aspirants for their sportsmanship and called for unity within the party ahead of the upcoming election.
Earlier in the day, the NWC endorsed the Primary Appeal Committee’s report, solidifying the primary’s outcome. This decision was reinforced by Engr. Ade Adetimehin, the State Chairman of the APC, who emphasized the party’s commitment to unity and progress in Ondo State.
As the gubernatorial race gains momentum, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s receipt of the Certificate of Return marks a significant step in APC’s preparations for the forthcoming election.
